Defect
Certain vehicles do not comply with the marking requirements of CMVSS 108 - Lighting System and Retroreflective Devices. The High/Low beam headlamp on these vehicles does not bear a "DOT" marking which is required by the standard.
Safety Risk

Remedy
All High/Low beam headlamp bulbs installed since February 8, 2000 have the correct marking. Since the subject bulbs meets or exceed the performance and design requirements of the standard, and the missing marking will not cause a person to replace, fit or use the bulb in a manner for which they are not intended, no further action will be taken.
