Defect
On certain vehicles, due to prolonged exposure to high heat, the power steering hose could crack and leak power steering fluid. Fluid leaking onto a hot surface could cause smoke and could potentially result in an underhood fire.
Safety Risk

Remedy
Dealers will replace the power steering hose.
