Defect
On certain electric vehicles, a software problem could cause the pedestrian warning system not to work. Canadian regulations require electric vehicles to make a minimum exterior sound.
Safety Risk
A pedestrian warning system that doesn't work could create an increased risk of injury for other road users.
Remedy
FCA Canada will notify owners in writing and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the amplifier software.
