The 1982 model year has a windshield mounting compliance issue where the windshield may not meet retention standards, meaning it can separate from the body in a crash instead of staying in place. On 1979 two-door models with a split-back bench seat, the front seat-back inertia lock can fail to engage, leaving the seatback without crash protection and raising the risk of injury to front occupants. The 1980 model year has a tail lamp bulb socket that can produce less light on the lens surface than required, reducing rear visibility to other drivers. Finally, 1979 station wagons with six-cylinder engines have an incorrect tire placard in the glove compartment door that lists the wrong tire profile ratio information.
