The Audi A5 Cabriolet has 9 recalls spanning 2010 through 2022, with the most serious being a driver's airbag inflator defect on 2010–2012 models where the inflator can rupture or explode in a crash, sending metal fragments into the cabin and potentially causing serious injury.

The most recent production years have three recalls. On 2022 models, a software fault can cause the rearview camera display to go blank while backing up, reducing rear visibility. The same blank-camera issue affects 2021 models through a separate condition. Also on 2020–2021 vehicles, rear axle misalignment can cause uneven or accelerated tire wear that raises the risk of a crash. On 2021 models, a rear seatbelt retractor issue can prevent a child restraint system from being properly secured, increasing the risk of injury in a crash.

The 2018 model year has a recall where corrosion on the passenger occupant detection system's connecting cable can cause the software to incorrectly disable the front passenger airbag, leaving that occupant without airbag protection in a crash. On 2017 models, a component inside the front and rear seatbelt pretensioners can break free after deployment in a crash and become a projectile inside the cabin.

Going back further, 2013–2017 models equipped with a 2.0-liter engine have a cooling system pump that can become blocked or short-circuit, raising the risk of an engine compartment fire.
