17 recalls across 12 model years
The Audi S7 has 17 recalls spanning 2013 through 2025, with the most serious being a rear axle lock nut that can break and misalign the rear axle on 2020-2021 models, causing sudden loss of directional control.
On 2020-2022 models, liquid spilled in the rear seat can reach the gateway control module and cause it to shut down, cutting engine power without warning while driving. The 2020-2021 model years also have a passenger airbag where the score line on the deployment panel may not open correctly in a crash, potentially sending plastic fragments into the cabin. A fuel level sender on 2020-2022 vehicles can stick and display an inaccurate reading, leaving the engine to stall unexpectedly from running out of fuel. The rearview camera on 2020-2025 models can fail to display an image when reversing due to a software error.
The 2021 model year carries several additional issues. The rear seatbelt retractor may not properly secure a child restraint system in a crash. The instrument cluster can go blank, hiding the speedometer and warning lights, and the rearview camera can also fail to show an image on that year. A mislabeled brake fluid reservoir cap on 2021 vehicles can lead to the wrong fluid being added, reducing braking effectiveness.
Going back to 2013-2017 models, the turbocharger oil supply strainer can clog and starve the bearings of lubrication. As the bearings wear, the turbine wheel can contact the housing or the shaft can break, causing the engine to stall while driving. The 2013-2018 model years have a passenger seat occupant detection mat that can wear or crack, causing the front passenger airbag to misclassify the seat occupant and potentially fail to deploy correctly in a crash. The 2014-2015 model years have a tire information label that overstates the maximum combined load weight, which can lead to overloading the vehicle.
