4 recalls across 3 model years
The Austin Marina has 4 recalls covering the 1972-1974 production run, with the most serious being fuel leaks on 1972 models where a deteriorating fuel tank vent hose can allow fuel to pool in the trunk, and a separate fuel pump leak that raises the risk of fire.
The 1972 model year also has a recall for the fuel tank itself corroding prematurely and leaking. On 1973 models equipped with automatic transmissions, the throttle cable can bind and fray at the trunnion pin, eventually failing and causing the throttle to snap shut, dropping the engine to idle and leaving the vehicle unable to accelerate in traffic. On 1974 models, the front flexible brake hoses can deteriorate over time, which can reduce braking effectiveness.
