3 recalls across 3 model years
The Bentley Turbo R has 3 recalls spanning the 1986–1996 production run, the most serious affecting 1989 models where the throttle linkage can bind against a vacuum hose clamp under hard acceleration and hold the throttle wide open with no way for the driver to close it. The 1996 model year has a brake system concern where certain batches of hydraulic mineral oil can affect the distribution valves inside the combined brake and load-levelling system, causing the brake pedal to feel inconsistent, particularly after the car has sat unused for an extended period. On 1986 models, the brake light switch can fail and either keep the brake lights on continuously or prevent them from lighting at all, meaning following drivers receive no signal when the brakes are applied.
