BMW C650GT Recalls

The BMW C650GT has 4 recalls covering 2011 through 2015 model years, with the most serious being a timing chain tensioner defect on 2013 models that can allow the chain to go slack, eventually causing engine failure and sudden loss of power while riding. Also affecting 2013 models, the front brake hose can crack and leak fluid, reducing or eliminating front braking ability and extending stopping distances. On 2011 models, the bolts securing the accessory luggage rack can loosen over time, allowing the rack to separate from the scooter and strike other vehicles or bystanders. The 2015 model year has a compliance recall involving the front rim, which is missing required labeling for rim type and certification designation.
