2 recalls across 3 model years
The BMW F 650 GS has 2 recalls covering 2008-2010 model years, both involving front brake disc fasteners that can work loose over time and allow the brake disc to shift, reducing braking performance and raising the risk of a crash. On 2008 models specifically, one or more front brake disc fasteners may have been manufactured too short, preventing them from threading in to the required depth and making them more likely to loosen. The broader recall covering 2008-2010 production involves a washer that can interfere with the clamping force on the front brake disc fasteners, again allowing them to back out gradually. In either case, a loose disc can compromise braking when it is needed most.
