BMW F850GS Recalls

The BMW F850GS has 2 recalls, both affecting the 2019 model year, where engine connecting rods may not have been properly installed and can loosen over time, causing engine damage, sudden loss of power, or rear wheel lockup that raises the risk of a crash. Both filings describe the same underlying defect. When a connecting rod works loose or separates, it can damage internal engine components and either cut power without warning or cause the rear wheel to lock, both of which can destabilize the motorcycle at speed.
