3 recalls across 4 model years
The BMW i7 eDrive50 has 3 recalls covering the 2024–2025 model years, with the most serious being a wiring harness defect on 2024–2025 vehicles where the air conditioning wiring can be damaged during a cabin air filter replacement, creating a short-circuit that can start a fire.
The 2024 model year has two additional recalls. The steering spindle can fracture, causing a sudden increase in steering effort that makes the vehicle harder to control. Separately, the electronic brake booster control module can malfunction, reducing power brake assist and extending stopping distances; the anti-lock brakes and stability control can also fail as a result, raising the risk of losing control during hard braking or on slippery surfaces.
