3 recalls across 3 model years
The BMW i7 xDrive60 has 3 recalls covering 2023 through 2025 model years, with the most serious being a steering spindle on 2024 models that can fracture and suddenly require much greater effort to steer, raising the risk of a crash.
On 2023 and 2024 models, the electronic brake booster control module can fail, removing power brake assist and extending stopping distances. The same failure can also disable the anti-lock brakes and stability control, which can cause the vehicle to lose directional control during hard braking or in a skid. Across all three model years, 2023 through 2025, the wiring harness for the air conditioning system runs in an area disturbed during cabin air filter replacement, and the harness can be damaged in that process, short-circuit, and start a fire.
