1 recall across 3 model years
The BMW K 1200 GT has 1 recall covering 2006-2008 model years, where the rear wheel mounting flange can crack, allowing the mounting bolts to loosen and the rear wheel to lose its attachment to the motorcycle, raising the risk of a crash.
When the flange cracks, it no longer holds the mounting bolts securely in place. The bolts can work loose gradually, and the rear wheel can shift or detach while the motorcycle is moving. A rider may notice handling instability before full separation, but the failure can also occur without obvious warning. This recall is shared across a wide range of BMW motorcycle models from the mid-2000s through the early 2010s, and on the K 1200 GT it applies to the 2006, 2007, and 2008 model years.
