3 recalls across 9 model years
The BMW K 1600 B has 3 recalls spanning 2017 through 2025, with the most serious being a front suspension strut defect on 2024 models where a faulty proportional valve can loosen inside the strut, causing strut failure and sudden loss of stability while riding.
The 2017-2025 model years share a separate issue: the seal on the reverse gear control unit can deteriorate, letting moisture into the unit, which can cause it to overheat and start a fire. On 2019-2020 models, the rear suspension link strut connecting the rear suspension to the frame can lack sufficient strength, become damaged, and allow the rear of the motorcycle to contact the rear wheel, destabilizing the ride and raising the risk of a crash.
