BMW K1200R Recalls

The BMW K1200R has 3 recalls covering the 2005-2006 model years, with the most serious being a 2006 brake fluid foaming issue where sustained high-rpm riding causes air to enter the front brake system and significantly reduce front braking power. The 2006 model year also has a recall where a damaged anti-lock brake system cable can contact the front forks and cause the ABS to stop functioning. On 2005 models, frequent short trips in cold weather cause condensation to build up in the engine oil via the dry-sump breather, raising the proportion of water in the oil.
