The BMW K1200S has 2 recalls covering the 2005-2007 model years, with the more serious being a steering damper defect on 2007 models where an internal coating can flake off and partially block the oil passages, causing the damper to seize and making the handlebars dangerously stiff to turn. On 2005 models, the anti-lock brake sensor cable near the front left caliper can hang loose after service work such as a tire change, contact the spinning brake rotor, and wear through over time, eventually causing the anti-lock brake system to stop functioning.
