The BMW R100RS has 2 recalls affecting different ends of its 1977-1985 production run, with the most serious being a brake light switch misalignment on 1985 models where the front or rear brake light can fail to illuminate, leaving following traffic unaware that the rider is slowing. On 1977 models, the fuel tank filler cap's pressure relief valve can allow excessive pressure to build in the tank, which can flood the engine and cause stalling.
