BMW Z3 Recalls

The BMW Z3 has 2 recalls, both affecting the 1999 model year, with the most serious being a rear differential ring gear bolt that can work completely loose and lock up the rear axle without warning. The other recall involves a main positive battery cable nut that was not properly tightened at the factory, allowing the connection to loosen over time until electrical continuity is lost. If that happens while driving, the engine can shut off; at night, the lights can go out as well, raising the risk of a crash.
