3 recalls across 3 model years
The Buell Blast has 3 recalls covering the 2000-2007 production run, with the most serious affecting 2007 models where the fuel tank can deform under high heat, press against the cylinder head, and develop a fuel leak that can result in a fire while riding.
The 2004 model year has a separate fuel system issue where the tank vent rollover valve can malfunction, cutting off the air supply that normally replaces fuel as it's consumed. When this happens, the engine can shut down without warning while the motorcycle is in motion. On 2000 models, the rear wheel sprocket can crack and break, which can cause sudden loss of drive power, loss of control, or throw debris at the rider.
