3 recalls across 2 model years
The Buell M2 Cyclone has 3 recalls across the 1997-1999 production run, with the most serious affecting 1999 models where the rear shock absorber can break and allow the underside of the motorcycle to drag on the road, causing sudden loss of handling control.
On 1997 models, the front brake line guide can kink the brake hose during braking, which prevents the front caliper pistons from releasing promptly and can leave the front brake partially applied after the lever is released. Also on 1997 models, the engine isolator mount system can lose its clamping force, allowing the engine to shift unexpectedly within the frame and startle the rider in a way that can lead to a crash.
