The Chevrolet 6500HD has 3 recalls covering 2019-2023 model years, with the most serious being a brake pressure sensor assembly on 2019-2023 vehicles that can leak brake fluid into the brake pressure switch, cause an electrical short, and start a fire while driving or parked.
The 2022 model year has two additional issues. A pressure-sensor fitting on the primary hydraulic brake line can be insufficiently tightened, allowing brake fluid to leak out and lengthen stopping distances. Also on 2022 models, hex flange lock nuts used in the suspension and steering joints can break and lose tension, causing steering instability.
