4 recalls across 7 model years
The Chevrolet Caprice has 4 recalls covering the 2011-2014 model years, with the most serious being a 2014 model year defect where the front passenger seat airbag can deploy with more force than intended, raising the risk of injury in a crash. The 2013-2014 model years also share a wiper motor issue where the gear teeth can strip and leave the wipers completely inoperative, removing the ability to clear rain or snow from the windshield.
On 2011-2013 models, a seatbelt cable can break and leave an occupant without proper restraint in a crash. There is also a separate issue on 2011-2013 Police Patrol Vehicle trim specifically, where two pins inside the transmission selector lever can shift out of position, allowing the transmission to move out of Park without the brake pedal being pressed and creating a risk of unintended vehicle movement.
