3 recalls across 4 model years
The Chevrolet W3500 has 3 recalls covering 2006-2009 model years, with the most serious affecting 2008-2009 gasoline-engine vehicles where the throttle pedal can become trapped under a steel stopper bolt and stay locked at full throttle, making the vehicle difficult to slow or stop.
The 2006-2008 model years have a fuel tank that can corrode and develop a fuel leak. If a leak reaches an ignition source, a fire can result. On 2006-2007 models, oil pipe bolts that were not fully tightened during assembly can work loose over time, allowing engine oil to seep or leak out. If enough oil escapes, the engine can seize while the vehicle is moving, causing sudden deceleration and raising the risk of a rear-end collision.
