3 recalls across 4 model years
The Chevrolet W3500 has 3 recalls covering the 2006-2009 model years, with the most serious affecting 2008-2009 gasoline-engine models where the throttle pedal can catch on a steel stopper bolt, stick at full throttle, and make the vehicle difficult to slow or stop.
The 2006-2008 model years have a fuel tank that can corrode and develop a leak, creating a fire risk if fuel contacts an ignition source. On 2006-2007 models, oil pipe bolts that were not fully tightened during production can loosen over time, allowing oil to seep past the seals. If enough oil escapes, the engine can seize while driving, causing sudden deceleration and raising the risk of a crash.
