The Chrysler Dynasty has 3 recalls covering the 1988 and 1990 model years, with the most serious being two separate brake system issues on 1990 ABS-equipped vehicles where either seal wear inside the hydraulic control unit or a leaking high-pressure hose can reduce or eliminate power-assisted braking, extending stopping distances.
Both 1990 ABS recalls involve the Bendix-10 system. In the first, the actuator piston seals and pump motor can deteriorate, causing the ABS function to drop out and leaving the driver with noticeably heavier brake pedal effort. In the second, a high-pressure hose can leak or pull free from its fitting, again reducing power assist and increasing the distance needed to stop. The 1988 model year has a separate issue limited to vehicles with the 3.0-litre engine, where leaking fuel injectors can cause the exhaust to exceed emissions standards.
