Summary
The Chrysler LHS has 5 recalls spanning the 1993-2000 production run, with the most serious affecting 1993 models equipped with the 3.5-litre engine, where the fuel injection rail or its O-ring seals can leak fuel and, near an ignition source, start a fire.
The final production years carry three separate seat and restraint issues. On 2000 models, a manufacturing flaw in the driver's seat belt retractor can prevent the deceleration and tilt lock functions from engaging, which reduces belt protection in a frontal crash. On 1999 models, the shoulder belt's upper mounting bolt can be too brittle to handle crash forces, allowing the belt anchor to fail when it's needed most. On 1998 models, the driver seat recliner bolts can break and allow the seatback to fall rearward without warning while driving. The 1999 model year also has a compliance issue where an incorrect emission control information label may have been installed, though this carries no safety consequence.
