2 recalls across 1 model year
The Datsun 280Z has 2 recalls, both affecting the 1975 model year, with the more serious being fuel line hose clamps in the engine compartment that can deform when tightened, allowing fuel to seep into the engine compartment and creating a fire risk.
The second recall covers two related cold-weather throttle issues on 1975 models. In sub-zero temperatures, moisture from the crankcase vent system can build up in the air regulator and cause the engine to idle at high speed if the vehicle is not fully warmed up before driving. Separately, certain weather and driving conditions can cause a gummy deposit to form between the carburetor throttle shaft and its bushings, preventing the throttle from moving smoothly.
