Dodge Caliber Recalls

The Dodge Caliber has 8 recalls covering the 2007–2012 model years, with the most serious being a front impact sensor wiring short on 2010–2012 vehicles that can disable the airbags, seat belt pretensioners, and side airbags, leaving occupants without crash protection in a collision.

The 2010 model year has two additional concerns. An incorrect door lock rod in the right front passenger door can unlatch when the window is rolled down while driving, raising the risk of a passenger being ejected. There is also a separate issue where the occupant restraint controller can short circuit, which overlaps with the airbag and pretensioner concern described above and extends through the 2012 model year.

On 2007 models, the accelerator pedal pivot bearing bushings can dislodge from their pockets, causing the pedal to bind or stick. That same year, rear wheel hub mounting bolts may be too long to allow the parking brake to fully engage, which can let the vehicle roll unexpectedly. A fire extinguisher equipped on some 2007 vehicles uses a Kidde plastic-handle or push-button design that can fail to discharge properly when needed.
