The Dodge Shadow has 4 recalls covering the 1991 and 1992 model years, with the most serious being a steering wheel defect on 1992 models where the wheel's internal armature can crack and separate from the steering column hub, leaving the driver with no steering control. The remaining three recalls all involve the driver's seat back attachment bolt, which can fail and allow the seat back to recline suddenly while driving. On 1991 two-door models, this affects the lower bolt on the driver's seat back frame. The same defect carries over to 1992 models across the broader passenger vehicle lineup. A sudden unexpected recline can pull the driver away from the wheel and pedals, raising the risk of losing control of the vehicle.
