4 recalls across 3 model years
The Dodge Spirit has 4 recalls spanning the 1990-1994 production run, with the most serious being a 1994 model year issue where front seat belt anchors can fail in a crash, releasing the belt and leaving occupants without effective restraint. On 1991 models, two separate recalls apply. The front airbag impact sensors may not be properly fastened to their mounting brackets, which means the airbags will not deploy in a frontal collision. Separately on 1991 vehicles, the front disc brake caliper guide pin bolts may not have been tightened to the correct torque and can work loose, reducing braking effectiveness. On 1990 models registered in certain Canadian provinces, the daytime running light module can corrode and fail, causing the lights to stop functioning.
