4 recalls across 3 model years
The Ducati Hypermotard has 4 recalls covering 2018 through 2020 model years, with the most serious affecting 2019-2020 models where a battery negative terminal can break and cut power to the engine mid-ride, stalling the motorcycle and raising the risk of a crash.
The 2018 model year has a rear brake pad defect where the friction material can separate from the metal backing plate, leaving the rear brake with significantly reduced stopping power and extending the distance needed to bring the motorcycle to a halt. Recalls 2 and 3 describe the same underlying brake pad issue. On 2019 SP trim models specifically, the side stand weld can be faulty, causing the stand to snap and the motorcycle to fall over when parked.
