FERRARI 488 GTB Recalls

The Ferrari 488 GTB has 3 recalls, with the most serious being a brake fluid leak on 2016-2019 models where the hydraulic brake system can lose fluid and significantly reduce or eliminate braking ability, raising the risk of a crash. The same brake fluid leak issue extends back through earlier production on related models, so the full scope of that defect covers the entire 2016-2019 run of the 488 GTB. There is also a software recall on 2016 models where the instrument cluster fails to warn the driver when brake discs are critically worn, meaning the discs can deteriorate to the point of structural damage before the driver is aware of the problem. Also on 2016 models, a small number of vehicles built between September and November of 2015 have a low-pressure fuel line connection that can allow fuel vapor to escape during engine start, creating a fire risk near the engine.
