6 recalls across 10 model years
The Ferrari 488 GTB has 6 recalls covering 2016 through 2019 model years, with the most serious being a brake fluid leak on 2016-2019 vehicles where the hydraulic brake system can lose fluid and reduce or eliminate braking ability, raising the risk of a crash.
Two fuel system recalls affect different year ranges. On 2018-2019 models, the fuel vapor separator can crack and allow liquid fuel to leak near potential ignition sources, creating a fire risk. On certain early 2016 production vehicles, a low-pressure fuel line connection can allow fuel vapor to escape during engine start, which also raises the risk of fire.
The 2016-2018 model years are covered by two separate airbag-related recalls. The passenger-side front airbag inflator can rupture and send metal fragments into the cabin, posing a serious injury risk to occupants. Separately, the airbag control module on 2016-2018 vehicles can malfunction and cause airbags or seatbelt pretensioners to fail to deploy or deploy incorrectly in a crash, reducing occupant protection.
On 2016 models only, a software error prevents the instrument cluster from alerting the driver when brake discs are critically worn, which can allow the discs to deteriorate to the point where braking performance is compromised.
