The GMC T60 has 1 recall affecting the 1999 model year, where tie rod ball-socket bearings that are below specification can wear prematurely, compromising the connection between the steering linkage and the wheels and potentially reducing the driver's ability to steer the vehicle. When the ball socket wears down enough, the tie rod assembly can develop looseness or fail outright, which on any vehicle means steering inputs may not translate accurately to wheel movement. The affected units involve TRW-supplied tie rod assemblies using the 24-DL model ball socket.
