3 recalls across 2 model years
The GMC Topkick C7 has 3 recalls spanning 1995 and 1999 model years, with the most serious being a 1999 transmission fluid cooler hose that can degrade from heat, leak fluid onto the exhaust system, and start a fire.
The other 1999 recall involves the automatic transmission shift cable, where an improperly crimped end rod can work loose over time and allow the cable to pull free, leaving the driver unable to select gears or move the shifter with any confidence it is engaging correctly. Going back to 1995, certain trucks equipped with National Seating air suspension bucket seats have an incomplete weld on the driver's or passenger's seat back frame, which can cause the seat back to fail to hold its position in a crash.
