3 recalls across 2 model years
The GMC Topkick C7 has 3 recalls spanning 1995 and 1999 model years, with the most serious being a transmission fluid cooler hose on 1999 models that can leak fluid onto the exhaust system and start a fire. The other 1999 recall involves automatic transmission shift cables with a crimp that may not hold under repeated use, allowing the cable to pull free of its end fitting. When that happens, the driver can lose the ability to select gears or may not be able to tell which gear the transmission is actually in. Going back to the 1995 model year, trucks equipped with National Seating air suspension bucket seats may have an incomplete weld on the driver's or passenger's seat back frame, which means the seat back may not hold its position in a crash.
