4 recalls across 4 model years
The GMC W3500 has 4 recalls spanning the 2006-2009 production run, the most serious being a throttle pedal defect on 2008-2009 gasoline-powered models where the pedal can jam under a steel stopper bolt, hold the engine at full throttle, and make the vehicle extremely difficult to stop.
The 2006-2008 model years have a fuel tank that can corrode prematurely and develop a leak. Fuel escaping near any ignition source raises the risk of an engine compartment fire. On 2006 models specifically, a bolt connecting the engine oil pipe to the vacuum pump can work loose over time, allowing oil to seep or leak from the seals around the connection.
