3 recalls across 4 model years
The GMC W4500 has 3 recalls covering 2006-2009 model years, with the most serious being a stuck accelerator pedal on 2008-2009 gasoline-engine models where the throttle pedal can catch on a steel stopper bolt and remain pinned at full throttle, making the vehicle difficult to slow or stop.
The 2008 model year has a related but distinct accelerator issue where the pedal can shift sideways and hang up on a bracket, also leaving the throttle stuck open and raising crash risk. Both accelerator concerns affect gasoline-engine vehicles only. On 2006-2008 models, the fuel tank can corrode and develop a leak; if fuel contacts an ignition source, that leak can result in a fire.
