3 recalls across 3 model years
The Harley-Davidson Dyna Wide Glide (FXDWG) has 3 recalls spanning 2001 to 2006, with the most serious being a 2006 transmission defect where the gearbox can slip into a false neutral and then drop into gear without warning, which can cause a sudden loss of control. The 2004 model year has a fuel tank fitted with an angled fuel fitting that does not meet impact test standards, meaning a crash can cause fuel to leak and ignite. On 2001 models, the fuel hose connecting to the carburetor can work loose and allow fuel to spill onto hot engine components, raising the risk of fire while riding.
