3 recalls across 3 model years
The Harley-Davidson Dyna Wide Glide (FXDWG) has 3 recalls covering 2001, 2004, and 2006 model years, with the most serious being a 2006 transmission defect where the gearbox can fall into a false neutral while the neutral indicator light shows the bike is already in neutral, then drop unexpectedly into gear and cause a crash.
The 2004 model year has a fuel tank with an angled fuel fitting that was not designed for this configuration, meaning in a crash the tank can leak fuel and ignite. On 2001 models, the fuel hose can detach from the carburetor, spilling fuel near heat or ignition sources and creating a fire risk.
