4 recalls across 7 model years
The Harley-Davidson FLHTCUTG has 4 recalls spanning 2015 through 2022, with the most serious being a traction control software defect on 2019-2020 models where a faulty rear wheel speed signal can trigger one rear brake to apply on its own, pulling the trike unexpectedly off course.
The 2019-2022 model years also have a brake light software error that causes the brake lights to illuminate without the rider touching the brake, which can confuse following drivers and raise the risk of a rear-end collision. Going back to 2017-2018, a clutch assembly defect can prevent the clutch from fully disengaging, making it difficult or impossible to separate the engine from the drivetrain and potentially causing a loss of control. On 2015 models manufactured between July and October 2014, the rear brake master cylinder was assembled with an incorrect piston that can allow the primary cup to tear, reducing rear braking performance.
