2 recalls across 2 model years
The Honda CRF1000 Africa Twin has 2 recalls covering the 2016 and 2018 model years, with the most serious being a fuel tank contamination issue on 2018 models where zinc oxide debris left during manufacturing can clog the fuel filter and cause the engine to stall without warning. A sudden stall at speed raises the risk of a crash. On 2016 models equipped with an accessory center stand, faulty mounting hardware can cause the stand to detach. If it separates while the motorcycle is parked, the bike can fall over; if it comes loose while riding, the stand becomes a road hazard for other traffic.
