HONDA DEL SOL Recalls

The Honda Del Sol has 1 recall affecting the 1994 model year, where the passenger airbag module can separate from its housing during deployment, sending the module itself into the cabin rather than the bag inflating properly to protect the occupant. The lower airbag module is secured to the upper housing by retainer tabs that were drilled incorrectly, leaving them without enough strength to hold under the force of deployment. In a crash where the airbag fires, the module can break free and become a projectile inside the vehicle.
