HONDA SILVER WING Recalls

The Honda Silver Wing has 3 recalls covering the 2002-2003 model years, with the most serious being a fuel tank that can crack and leak on 2003 models, creating a fire risk in the presence of any ignition source. The 2002 model year carries two separate structural concerns. The rear wheel can develop stress cracks where the spokes meet the hub during repeated bumpy riding, and those spokes can eventually fail and cause the wheel to collapse without warning while moving. On the steering side, excessive clearance in the lower handlebar clamp can cause the handlebar to loosen or detach over time, leaving the rider with no steering control.
