4 recalls across 3 model years
The HUMMER H2 has 4 recalls covering the 2003-2008 production run, with the most serious being a 2008 brake issue where reversed anti-lock brake wheel speed sensor wiring can cause vehicle instability and longer stopping distances in situations where the anti-lock system activates. The 2004 model year has a brake concern of its own: the hydraulic brake booster's pressure accumulator can crack or break free from the booster assembly during normal driving, and if the hood is open when this happens, fragments from the accumulator can strike nearby people. Both 2003 recalls involve the windshield wiper motor. On some 2003 vehicles the wiper motor can fail outright during use, cutting visibility in bad weather without any warning. A separate 2003 recall covers water intrusion into the wiper motor module, which can cause the front wipers to operate intermittently or stop working entirely in rain or snow.
