4 recalls across 4 model years
The Indian Motorcycle Scout has 4 recalls spanning 2015 through 2025, with the most serious being a fuel pump failure on 2021 models that can stall the engine while riding and prevent a restart, leaving the rider without power in traffic.
The 2025 model year has a software issue that causes the gear position indicator on the rider display to show neutral when the transmission is actually in gear, giving the rider incorrect information that can affect how they manage the motorcycle. On the brake side, 2017 models equipped with anti-lock brakes may have air trapped in the brake system, which produces a soft lever or pedal feel and can reduce braking effectiveness over time. Going back to the 2015 model year, the rear brake master cylinder may have had its piston retaining ring incompletely seated, which can prevent adequate fluid pressure from reaching the rear caliper and reduce or eliminate rear braking force.
