4 recalls across 4 model years
The Indian Motorcycle Springfield has 4 recalls spanning 2014 to 2025, with the most serious recent issue affecting 2025 models where a faulty fuel pump can fail and stall the engine without warning, raising the risk of a crash. The 2014 model year shares the same severity rating for a different reason: engine misfires can send unburned fuel into the exhaust system, generating enough heat to start a fire and potentially damage the motorcycle or cause injury.
On the electrical side, 2018 models have a right-hand switch assembly that can develop internal corrosion over time, creating a short that causes the motorcycle to start on its own if a key fob is nearby and the other safety interlocks happen to be satisfied. The 2017 model year has a compliance recall covering headlight assemblies: certain units were fitted with European-specification halogen headlights that do not meet Canadian lighting standards, which affects light output and beam pattern.
