4 recalls across 4 model years
The Indian Motorcycle Springfield has 4 recalls spanning 2014 to 2025, with the most serious affecting 2025 models where a faulty fuel pump can stall the engine without warning while riding, raising the risk of a crash.
There is also a fire-related concern on 2014 models, where the engine can misfire and push unburned fuel into the exhaust system, generating enough heat to start a fire that can injure riders or bystanders and damage nearby property. On 2018 models, corrosion inside the right-hand switch cube can cause an electrical short that allows the motorcycle to start on its own without anyone at the controls, provided the key fob is nearby and the other safety interlocks happen to be satisfied. The 2017 model year has a compliance recall involving halogen headlight assemblies: certain motorcycles were fitted with European-specification units that do not meet Canadian lighting output standards.
