The Indian Blackhawk Dark has 1 recall covering 2009-2011 model years, where the body control module can misread a normal headlight beam switch as an electrical overload and shut the headlight off entirely until the key is cycled, leaving the rider without any forward lighting while riding.
When the beam selector is moved slowly between high and low beam, both beams briefly illuminate at the same time. The body control module interprets that overlap as an overload condition and cuts power to the headlight, which does not restore until the ignition is turned off and back on. The loss of forward lighting raises the risk of a crash, particularly in low-light conditions.
