3 recalls across 8 model years
The Indian Dark Horse has 3 recalls spanning 2009 to 2016, with the most serious being a rear brake master cylinder defect on 2016 models that can reduce or eliminate rear braking power, lengthening stopping distances and raising the risk of a crash.
The 2014-2016 model years have an ignition-related issue where an engine misfire can send unburned fuel through the exhaust system, raising exhaust temperatures to the point where a fire can ignite. Going back to earlier production, 2009-2013 models have a rear rim that can crack and lose air pressure, deflating the rear tire while riding and causing the rider to lose control.
