4 recalls across 3 model years
The Indian Roadmaster Elite has 4 recalls spanning 2018 through 2025, with the most serious being a 2025 model year issue where an incorrectly crimped wire can cause the fuel pump to fail and stall the engine while riding, raising the risk of a crash.
The 2024 model year has two separate issues. The crankshaft position sensor can be routed incorrectly, which can also cause an unexpected engine stall while riding. Separately, the rear suspension pushrod can buckle under load, and when it does, it can pinch the main wiring harness, damage the coolant reservoir, contact and damage the rear tire, or cause the suspension to bottom out.
Going back to the 2018 model year, certain motorcycles have an electrical system defect that can allow the engine to start on its own. If the motorcycle is parked in an enclosed space when this happens, the resulting carbon monoxide buildup raises the risk of injury.
