The INFINITI G20 has 5 recalls covering the 1991 and 1993 model years, with the most serious affecting 1993 vehicles where a plastic connector near the front seatbelt pretensioner can catch fire when the pretensioner fires in a crash, creating a fire risk inside the passenger compartment. The 1991 model year has a fuel filler tube that can corrode, particularly on vehicles operated in salt-belt states, and leak fuel near potential ignition sources. There is also a rear seatbelt buckle issue on 1991 models where plastic welds securing the release button can fail in hot weather, leaving the belt either unable to latch fully or impossible to buckle at all.
