Infiniti I30 Recalls

The INFINITI I30 has 7 recalls spanning the 1997–2004 model years, with the most serious being a passenger-side front airbag inflator defect on 2001–2004 models where the inflator can rupture and send metal fragments into the cabin, potentially causing serious injury or death.

The airbag inflator issue on 2001–2004 vehicles is the subject of multiple recall actions, including one specifically for 2001 models where a prior inflator replacement did not fully resolve the problem, requiring a further repair. On 2001 models, there is also a front lower control arm pin that can break, making the vehicle difficult to steer and allowing the tire to contact the inner fender.

Going back to the 1997 model year, a damaged diode inside the alternator can fail and cause an electrical short that melts the alternator's plastic housing. If the resulting gases do not clear the engine compartment, they can ignite and start a fire in the alternator assembly.
