4 recalls across 4 model years
The INFINITI M56 has 4 recalls covering the 2011–2013 model years, all centered on the same serious issue: the driveshaft on two-wheel-drive models can fatigue and break, cutting power to the wheels while driving or disabling the parking brake and allowing the vehicle to roll away when parked.
All four recalls describe the same underlying driveshaft defect on 2WD-equipped 2011–2013 models. When the driveshaft breaks while the vehicle is moving, the driver loses drive power entirely. When the failure happens or has already occurred on a parked vehicle without the parking brake applied, the parking brake mechanism itself can be damaged, leaving no reliable way to hold the car in place on a slope or incline.
