The INFINITI M56 has 3 recalls covering 2011-2014 model years, all centered on the same serious defect: the driveshaft on 2WD models can break while driving, cutting power to the wheels and raising the risk of a crash. On 2011-2013 models equipped with the VK56 engine and 2WD, and on 2014 models in the same configuration, a broken driveshaft can also damage the parking brake mechanism, leaving no reliable way to prevent the vehicle from rolling away when parked. The 2011 model year is the most broadly covered across the filings, though the underlying defect and its consequences are the same across all affected years. All three recalls address the same physical failure and its consequences, and prior repair attempts did not fully resolve the issue across the production run.
